Moving along

Had the Vegetable and Chicken Potstickers last night.
not so good. Won't get those again.
Just just plain didn't taste good.
I couldn't eat all of it.

The Lasagna was okay. Not my favorite, but not horrible.
I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but I wouldn't replace it if it's already on the menu.

The Cereals were good.
I really liked the Triple Grain Crips Cereal.
I just wish there was more of it.

This morning, I had a banana Nut Muffin. Tasted like Banana Bread to me.
Yum.

I weight in tomorrow night.

Friday

First Weigh In - Lost 2 pounds
Kevin - lost 5 1/2

I know men lost it faster, but I do feel a bit daunted. I know I shouldn't, but I do. I'm trying not to let it get to me.

Food this week has been good.
The Chicken Cashew was better than I was expecting, as was the Chicken Carbonara.

Today, I forgot my lunch (I forgot Kevin's lunch too!)
So, I had a sandwich with two slices of bread and 2 slices of cheese.
(2 starch and 2 "meat")
I forgot salad dressing too, but I had leftover from last night
(worked late, so we get food in. i got a salad with fat free Italian dressing)

Tonight, I plan on having a Salad with grilled Chicken, and a roll with a touch of butter. That should satisfy my
2 starch 4 meat 2 veggie 1 fat

Monday

Monday went well.

Breakfast was Jenny Craig Honey Oat bar. It was thick and heavy and a little dry. It worked well with the Milk.

Breakfast was a Chicken Sandwich. I put my cheese one it. The Chicken was very moist and flavorful.

Dinner was Meatloaf. I didn't think it was going to be enough, but it was dense. Tasted very good, and the BBQ sacue with it paired well.

Dessert was Triple chocolate Cheese Cake. It was very yummy. Creamy Creamy.

I bought some carrots to snack on during the day when I have issues - 4- 6 pm.

Went to Costco, got lettuce, spinach, some fruit, and veggies. Spent $55, which was a steal for everything we got.
didn't get carrots, as they were cheaper at Shoppers.

Sunday

Another day gone.

The Multi-grain hoops were quite tasty.

The Cheesy Enchiladas were also good. A little too many peppers for me, but it didn't seem to upset my stomach, so that was good.

Salisbury Steak was very yummy. Wish there was a little more sauce to it, but all in all, good.

Snack was Chocolate Chip Snack Bar. Kinda like a chewy granola bar. Went down well with the cup of milk that went with it.

Had a D&D game today. Only a little bit tempted - my sister had a chocolate croissant.

But, I had an apple, and it was (mostly) okay.

Tomorrow is another day, right?

Saturdays are tough

So, my inlaws came over today. Had Jenny Craig Turkey Burger and a salad.
I love the Turkey Burger. It has a nice turkey flavor, and just fills you up. It looks small, but has a nice punch. It comes with barbecue sauce, but I don't use it.
I got 1 oz of cheese, so I put that on the turkey burger. Yum!

Since we got up late, we had lunch for breakfast.

Had some breakfast for lunch. The Jenny Craig Cranberry cereal was pretty good.

But the problem stems from stress eating and comfort eating. All I wanted was chocolate. Cookie, candy, ice cream, it didn't matter. No, I didn't give in. I still have the craving. But, i know where it comes from.

Still doesn't help from making me cranky.

The Spaghetti with Meatballs was pretty good. The Meatballs had a nice meaty flavor to them. The spaghetti was a bit dry, but okay. Not my favorite, but okay.

The Cinnamon twist was really good. Nice and sweet and puffy. Not chocolate, but yum.

Now, it's bed time, and I'm still wanting chocolate, but it's not AS bad I suppose. I can have some Chocolate pudding, so I might go out and get some. I'm not a good pudding person, but I think I can learn to like it.

Snack and Go

The Jenny Craig Honey Mustard Pretzels were pretty good.

I did wait until 4. It was tough, but I did it (thanks Lisa!)

Now, the wait until dinner.

I wonder what veggies I'll have tonight?

Lunch time

So, lunch was Jenny Craig Turkey Club Panini

It wasn't bad. Didn't look so hot, but it tasted good. It had a sauce that was very creamy. The Turkey was present, but the bacon flavor, while I can see it, didn't show up.
All in all, I would get it again.

Salad was salad-y

I'm still eating my cheese - 2% Sharp Chedder, yum.

Later -
Jenny Craig Honey Mustard Pretzels and cottage cheese

Dinner - Mac and Cheese!

Day Three

Last night's dinner was okay.
Jenny Craig Fish and Chips (with malt vinegar!)
Fresh Carrots.

The Fish and Chips were okay. The Chips where nice, if a bit soggy tasting. The batter on the fish was hard, rather than crispy, and had I not used the vinegar, I think the whole thing would have been difficult to eat. The fish inside was good, so it was just the batter.

Carrots were yummy, as always.

For snack
Jenny Craig Bruschetta Veggie Chips
Low fat Cottage Cheese.

The Veggie Chips were better then I expected. Nice an crunch, with a kinda sweet spicy taste.

So, we are on day three.
Breakfast is
Jenny Craig Breakfast Scramble
Fruit
1 cup nonfat milk

Skim (aka blue) milk is always the same. Although I have to say, it's not as bad as I remember it.

The Breakfast Scramble was really good. I contained "Scrambled Egg White Product" with Cheese, Turkey Ham, over Roasted Red Potatoes in a Cheese Sauce.
It was quite good. The "egg product" tasted like eggs, and there was plenty of cheese and cheese sauce to give it a nice flavor. Only two complaints.
1. Not enough Turkey Ham. I got two small pieces. I would have liked to have a little more to spread over the whole container
2. While microwaving, the edges of the container got hard and dry, and I couldn't eat some of it. While this isn't something that can be fixed, it's still irritating, as it was yummy, and I want to eat it all!

Later today, I have Jenny Craig Turkey Club Panini for lunch and Jenny Craig Honey Mustard Pretzels for afternoon snack.

4 - 6 pm

I find the toughest time is 4 - 6 pm.
I've eaten all this food, had my snack at 3, and still have issues.
I might try eating snack at 4 instead?
Perhaps moving everything up -
breakfast at 9
snack at 11
Lunch at 1:30 or 2
snack at 4

That might work out better. Dinner will be around 7 I think.

So, for now, a stick of gum is in order.

Lunch Time

So snack time was hampered by a bad banana, I had to eat my grapes instead. That leaves me without a fruit at afternoon. To the store I go for lunch!

For lunch - Jenny Craig Broccoli and Cheese Potato.
It's a real Potato! Imagine a baked potato. Cup off the top. scoop out all but 1/2 inch. Add Broccoli and Cheese mix. That's it! I do wonder what they do with the rest of the potato.
I really like this one. There is real cheese in there! It has a nice Broccoli flavor, and the potato taste just like a baked potato (because it is!)

For snack, I have yogurt, some sort of fruit and almonds. As I forgot the almonds at the store last night, I'll have to grab those at the store too.

I just ordered a neat thing from Avon (two of them actually).
It's a stackable bowl set. It comes with a large bowl, a freezer ring, a small bowl with lid, then a larger container on top, lid and then spoon. I think it's going to be great for cereal. and depending on how big, the bottom area might work for salad. I'll get it next week.

Day Two

Still Motivated.

Breakfast today is
Jenny Craig French Toast with Fruit Cup
Jenny Craig Lite Table Syrup
2 fruits
1 cup skim milk.

The French Toast is really good. I love the texture, very creamy. I might microwave it a little more than 75 seconds as one of my toasts was kinda warm.
The fruit that comes with it is full of blueberries , with a couple of raspberries and blackberries.
I warmed mine. The blueberries were very good and sweet, but the raspberries and blackberries were a bit tart.

I had some milk, and a banana. I still need to eat my apple.

For lunch, I have a Jenny Craig Broccoli and Cheese Potato.
Looks yum!

End of Day One

Last night ended well... for the most part.

Dinner was
Turkey with Gravy
Green Beans

Turkey with Gravy included dressing, mashed potatoes and green beans with almonds.
The Turkey was very good, very Turkey like, with the consistency of turkey, very nice.
The Gravy was flavorful, and worked well with the turkey, dressing and mashed potatoes.
The green beans held up well, and paired with the almond, of course, was tasty.
The only issue I had was the mashed potatoes. They looked like they were put in mechanically, which they probably are. They were thick and gummy too. Adding some gravy helped things, but not much.

I would eat the Turkey with Gravy again, even with the potato issue.

I didn't get to "dessert" / "snack" after dinner. I was too full of green beans, of which I cooked way too much of, but finished as I didn't want them to go to waste (waist?).

Day one went well. Stayed full most of the day. The 4pm - 6pm time frame was tough. I'll have to make sure I eat my snack later in the day to avoid some of this.

Also, I've cut out the soda, and so far I don't miss it. I know there will come a time when I miss the bubbles, but I think I'll be okay. I had two containers of water yesterday. It's one of the stainless steal bottles, so it's a nice size.

I did exercise last night for 10 minutes using the EA Active for Wii. I did it with my husband. It got tough at the end, and had to stop. I want to get to a point where I can do the entire 14 Minute workout, and, of course, beyond. I know it will take a while, but I think with constant work, it's possible.

And so ends Day One.

Moving along

Snack of Jenny Craig Cheese Curls are really good.
I'd eat two bags!

It's 5pm, and I'm getting hungry. Perhaps I should have waited to eat the Cheese Curls a little later in the day.

I'm drinking plenty of water, so that's good. I'll chew a peice of gum here and hopefully that will help.

It doesn't help that on my desk is a dish of candy. But, I shall not eat the Dove Caramel Chocolates.
*sigh*

Onto Dinner: Jenny Craig Turkey with Gravy

Day One

Hello. This is Kim and I've started Jenny Craig.
My current weight is: 323.00

This blog is to talk about my adventure though Jenny Craig, talk about the food, and just plain muse about losing weight.

Let's start with this morning.
I had the following for breakfast:
Jenny Craig Blueberry Muffin
1 cup Milk
3/4 cup Cottage Cheese
Banana

Yes, that's a lot of food! The Muffin was not small, and tasted really good. You can tell that there are oats. The consistency was nice, and you could taste Blueberry, although not overwhelmingly.

Snack was an "Anytime Bar" Vanilla Chocolate Crisp and another Banana.
The "Anytime Bar" was not so Crispy, but didn't taste awful. It had an odd consistency, but I can see myself eating one every day. They come in other flavors, so I think I'll explore that.

Lunch, where I am now, is
Jenny Craig Beef Chow Mien
Spinach Salad with Jenny Craig Balsamic Vinaigrette.

I have decided, I don't like raw spinach so much. The Vinaigrette is nice, but is overwhelmed by the spinach. I think I'll stick with the lettuce.
The Beef Chow Mien was a little spicy. The sauce was a little sweet, and the noodles has a nice texture to them. The Beef tasted like beef. The veggies got lost in the mix. I had to pick out the peppers, as I can't handle too many of them. But, all in all, not too bad. I'm sure it's not going to be my favorite, but it's better than some of the lean cuisine I've had.

Next up, snack - Jenny Craig Cheese Curls.
